How do I get google sponsored advertisements within my own search engine results on my site?

I've seen this type of functionality on several sites. Is there an API available either public or private that google offers to enable this functionality? This would involve sending to google the keywords searched for and getting only sponsored results. I would then like to dynamically incorporate those ads into the content of my SERP.

Can this be done using the adsense for search?

Yup, that's just adsense for search. Setup via Adsense CP

If you want your own search results to display ads, AFAIK you're not allowed to do that. You can however use adsense for search on google search results.
