How Many Times A Day Do You Check Your Adsense Numbers / Earnings?

Am I The ONLY Addict Here?

I thought about asking this question as I was checking my adsense numbers and earnings for the day.

I also remember the last time that the adsense site was down and in my time zone that was about 5 hours and it just drove me CRAZY just waiting for the site to get back up again!

Don't need to, depending on where I am, there are Google Desktop tools and Firefox extensions that keep it more or less current.

I check a handful of times per week, and then only for prior days stats.

I don't use adsense but I usually check my affiliate earnings at least every few hours.

"I only check about once every 30 minutes."

Ok, I think I found somebody that is more obsessive than me! LOL!

Thank you for making me feel better!

I've checked them about 183 times today. I check them first thing in the morning to see how things went since going to bed.
184.
Then again after breakfast and/or just before going to work.
185.
And every once in a while between tasks. When I want to take a break.
186.
I mean, I'm not an addict or anything. I can certainly stop any time I want. I just don't want to stop.
187.
I actually went a whole 5 hours once during the day without checking my stats. Of course, the cable company had an outage and I didn't have any Internet access at all. But that's beside the point!
188.
If I was a real addict, I could have driven to the public library and checked from there. Although it was Monday and they were closed. Which I remembered when I got there and saw the Closed sign.
189.

I did check 'em via my iPod Touch last November in Michigan Stadium during the UM-Ohio State football game. Actually, during all the home games (I was amazed at how many wifi connections I could get inside the stadium, although they came and went - I suspect that a lot of us were fighting for 'em; the stadium holds well over 100k)

About once a week. Just to check if they maybe added some tools to fight spam. Disappointed every time ....

You're probably going to boo me but I haven't logged in for at least 3 months. I just look at the direct deposit each month from Google, that tells me things are in order. I don't want to mess with that stuff. I could probably do a lot better but just don't have the time to MFA things.

A few times a day. I can't help logging in to see how things are going :) If I'm busy with other things (school) I've let several days go by without checking. But when I'm sitting at the computer working I'll check it... often...
especially if I have a new project or thing going on on my websites, eager to see how it's going :)

When I am at home, mostly every hour.

Only when I am very busy at home, it can be 2 hours or more.

too many to count.
Sometimes I check it, and then again a minute or so later because I forgot that I just checked it. Doh!

Sometimes I check about every two hours. Mostly it's much longer than that. I have better things to do.

Initially I was an addict then I got so I checked once or twice a day. Now I check every few days.

The main reason to check is if you are working on your ad positioning and such to find what gets the best CTR. As far as earnings per click is concerned that seems to be out of my hands. No use in going nuts trying to improve it.

You guys/gals must be making way too much money at this! What am I missing by not checking every day? Or, every week for that matter? You've got to be making some serious coin to sit there day in and day out like that. Share your strategies with us! What are you doing each time you login? Are you making changes based on revenue? If so, what type of changes? And, what has the effect of those changes been?

Watching your AdSense numbers has to be in the same category as watching the SERPs day in, day out. Are you a little stressed at all? Does your livelihood depend on you checking it that frequently? Is that sending some sort of signal to Google? Are you over doing it?

Man, I have all sorts of questions don't I? ;)

I'm in the UK therefore:

Just after 09.00 to check new day has started and previous day's metrics.

13.30'ish to see Asian/Middle East/European metrics just before east coast USA kicks-off.

18-19.00'ish just to be nosey!

21-22.30 for the day's trend and a guesstimate for the day's earnings.

23.00'ish beer:-)

02.00 Depends if I want to feel happy or disappointed!

Of course all this goes out the window IF there is an obvious glitch/updation delay etc.

So, you operate more like Google AdSense "Day Traders", its your career?

I think there are two types that check their AdSense a lot.

Those that are in a sense AdSense Day Traders and those who are hooked on looking frequently to see how they are doing either because they are new to AdSense or are trying to improve their results.

on weekdays I don't check online at all. I get an email once a day with stats for last 7 days, that's enough. I may do thorough online checking once a few weeks.

a few times a day - usually when flipping between tasks "how are the stats?" will occur to me.
Mind you, I use it more as a traffic-check ("Nothing on X?!? Ahhh! Is the host down?!?") than a $$ check :)
I wish it didn't do that annoying "display the login page and then continue back to the homepage" thing :(

How come so few of you use the Adsense Notifier?

It's a Firefox extension...check it out, once you do you'll wonder how you lived without it. Stats in the lower right corner of the browser updating constantly.

Well, in my case, Firefox 2 on OSX was appallingly slow, so Safari is my browser of choice (FF3 is supposed to be better, but I haven't played with it enough yet to want to swap)

I assume its one of those 'in the status bar' extensions? Not sure I actually want the numbers in front of me constantly. Distracting.

I just happen to detest Firefox.
