Site maintenance, Saturday, June 7th

There will be site maintenance tomorrow, June 7th, from 10 am - 2 pm PDT . That's a start time of 6pm (Saturday) in London, 10.30pm (Saturday) in New Delhi, and 3am (Sunday) in Sydney.

As you know, you will not be able to access your account during this maintenance, but your ad serving and reporting will not be affected.

I may have just a little bit too much time left without the ability to check my stats. I just noticed one thing. The message explaining the Adsense site is down is done one time in each supported language except English.

First time:

The Google AdSense website is temporarily unavailable. Please try back later.
We apologize for any inconvenience.

Second time:

The Google AdSense website is temporarily unavailable. Please try back later.
We apologise for any inconvenience.

I'm not a native English speaker, so maybe anyone could explain to me why it's important to have this message spelled with 'apologize' and once again but then with 'apologise'.

The first (apologize) is US English, the second (apologise) is UK/almost everywhere else English. Some people get upset if their version of English isn't used. I occasionally get helpful emails from US users of my sites pointing out 'spelling errors', because they use UK English.

Thanks abbeyvet. Yes, I figured it has to do with US/UK versions of the language. I don't get the 'being upset' part. I think mainly because every language has it's dialects. Not only the English one. Furthermore a lot of participants in here (and other forums) adopt to use English (I don't know, but suspect to use the US version a bit more than the UK version). I also think that without all us 'adopters' to use the English language this and other sites/forums would look a lot different, despite the fact all we try to say may not be understood all the time.

Anyway, this thread is about maintenance, so thanks ASA for the heads up :).

My stats are whacked too. Way too low for this hour of the day. Yesterday was my worst earnings day this month (by ~25%) so let's hope they fix that and get me above average by 25% for today :-)

Thanks ASA, but shouldn't these updates be provided on AdSense website and in control panel. And I am sure that there are hundreds of publishers who have never heard of webmasterworld. I just logged in to see that stats were stuck but had to come here to find out.

My stats are exactly the same as they were two minutes before AdSense went down for maintenance, plus none of my AdWords accounts are updated either, so I'd be willing to bet that *nothing* has been updated for anyone since the maintenance started.

I'm sure it will all get caught up eventually. It's more of a pain for me on the AdWords side than the AdSense; I can wait to see what I've made, but I need to know how my client accounts are doing. Bleah.

But seriously, my stats for the day look normal now. On the low end of normal range but better than freaky low a few hours ago.

My site too. Earnings lowest in 6 months - earnings and all stats from about a 5 hour period seem to be just vaporized.

I checked stats just before it went down and about a half hour after it was back up. In the mean time, I had less than ten pageviews, about 1% of the traffic I'd expect during that time. Afterward I seemed to get normal traffic and clicks, but I have not seen any click dump that would make up for the lost time period.

Dont mean to challenge you AdSenseAdvisor, but I see no evidence your statement above is factual, and plenty of evidence its just not true. So far it seems like Google has kept 100% of my adsense earnings for about a 5 to 6 hour period. Perhaps a click dump will come and make up for it, but I am begining to expect that it may not.

We shall see.

The clickdump did come. My income for yesterday was on par with normal weekend-days :)
