when should I add adsense?

I'm starting a new site and so far have about 25 pages...

I'm going to be setting it up online soon-- when should I put adsense on? Should I wait until it gains traffic, or is it OK to put it up right away?

I know you shouldn't put adsense on sites under construction; however all the pages are functional and I think it's OK.

Is there any separate process to setting adsense up on a new site? Does it need to go under review, do you need a separate account or anything like that, or just copy & paste the code they give you into the new domain?

You do not have to apply or anything to add the code to the new site. You may, however, want to create a channel in Adsense to monitor how the site is doing.

My rule of thumb is to add Adsense only after I have begun receiving some organic traffic, i.e., search engine or click throughs from links I have gained. Of course if you are planning to drive traffic to the site by some means of paid advertising you'll probably want to put the code on from the beginning.
