hi all..

i m using adsense for past 2 years

its a individual account..

Now i want to make it in my company name and not my name

i mailed support and they say that I have to close the current account and apply for a new biz account

My worry is about the smart pricing for google adsense

Since my new account is brand new and will not have any old reports and stats of my old account .. will my earnings drop ?

I have seen comments from folks saying tat earnings dint drop

im #*$! scared about the move..

Please suggest

Go ahead and do it. Your pay per click amount is independent of what kind of account you have.

Hello varunkrish,

Changing your account type will not affect your earnings, or lead to smart pricing.

Smart pricing occurs when our data shows that a click likely will not lead to a conversion for the advertiser (such as a purchase, phone call, or newsletter sign-up), and we reduce the price the advertiser pays for this click.

even if you do get a temp smart price, it won't last long - I would guess a fortnight at most.
I did the same thing and never noticed any difference at all.
I was more worried that I would close the old account and then they would decline to approve the new one! :) Just paranoia :)

Google changed my account type to a business, didnt seem to matter how many times I kept telling them im not a company nor a business. I was really mad at the time.

What was more ignoring that they then replied asking me for my 'company' details, VAT number or something. Telling them I dont have such information because Im not a company just completely fell on deaf ears.

I cant remember the exact details, but I think its Google policy to treat you as company if you got more than a dollor a day or something silly like that.

NB: You wont get smart priced.

Not true in my case.

The Google AdSense team does not decide what type of account you have. However, if you wish to change your account type, we will be happy to work with you reactively to accommodate your request.

Please note that there is no difference in the services or payments system offered.

Our guideline is that if your business employs 20 people or more, you should use a business account.
