Apart from sudden high EPC for your keywords..
Does anyone here have methods for monitoring those, tricks for staying ahead of the keywords game as a publisher?

I can guess a lot of the above, but I'd rather hear from people that mastered that dark art. AdSense veterans, reveal your stuff.

:-)
In the AdSense auction system, the way for a keyword click value to go up is if there is advertisers competition on that keyword, if many advertisers are fighting for the top spot over a long period, a bidding war is in place and you can find earnings jumping to astronomical scales for clicks generated on that keyword.

Knowing the above, I am sure some veterans here regularly monitor the value of the keywords their sites cover, and I am theorizing that they preemptively or in the right time use that information to their benefit by driving more traffic towards higher earning keyword rich pages, or other practices to maximize revenue.

Not interested to know the keywords (fish), but the tools used to monitor and predict, also best practices for siphoning traffic (fishing)
