This morning I noticed that ads for a chinese dating service were showing up across all my sites where I had referral ads (selected by category) showing - this company had apparently submitted their ads to all the available categories, including automotive, finance, etc etc. I don't want to run these ads, but I can't find any mention anywhere as to whether or not blocking them in the filter will take them off my sites. Since I didn't know, I just removed all the referral ads till I can find out.
