On reflection, I am not quite sure why you gave up Directories to moderate AdSense...
Technically, I didn't. I gave up Directories -- leaving it in the very capable hands of Skibum -- for Keyword Research. This forum is actually in addition to that forum.
...maybe there is more money here.
Nothing of the kind. Less conflict-of-interest here.
My husband is still a meta at ODP, and I honestly do not want to jeopardize his position by posting anything that might cause him problems over there.
Although he and I have a very clear boundary between us and ODP, they may not, and I don't particularly want to risk something he still enjoys doing.
Hope your new role would add some "value" to this board.
Personally I think this board is a little different from other boards of this forum. Most participants would have specific questions/concerns related to Adsense and wish to get "clear and sometimes authentic" feedbacks/comments. That is why I said before that I personally like to more "direct voices/messages" from Google/Adsense Support.
Do you have close contact/communication channel with Google/Adsense? What is the bottom line we could expect from you?
Wish this board could turn out more popular as Adsense does!
It is a little different; it can mean a lot to many of our members.
I'm so glad to see it in such capable hands. Not only is Laisha one of the most ethical and capable professional people out there, but she's also a wonderful person in other respects. I'm happy and proud to have come to know her and to have become her friend over the time that I've known her.
Laisha, thank you so much for your continuing willingness to contribute to the internet community as a whole and to the individuals involved. You're truly one of the pioneers in this field, and we appreciate both you as an individual and your contributions to the progress of internet marketing.
Luvya GF, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. And thanks for sharing the vision and being one of us as part of WebmasterWorld.
valourtrade - i think you were the one who could not see the diff between a "project manager" and a "moderator" when we discussed this a while ago? Laisha will be fantastic at keeping the process and discussion focused, but "content authority" is not necessary for a moderator and to me the less they are concerned with "providing answers" and more with "facilitating answers" the better.
If at any stage google decides to anoint an AdsenseGuy, i am sure they will fill the role you mention, thought of course both "googleGuy" and "AdwordsGuy" though they may have direct lines to Google and work there, should never be seen as "official" voices, just people with a special role and more direct product knowledge. I am sure that especially now, Adsense really only wishes to provide any "real facts" on a need-to-know" basis.
[typo for the word "moderator" fixed re valourtrade's suggestion below. Second typo referred to was not a typo but exactly what I meant. Valourtrade - you sound like my English teacher! I'm happy to discuss your post below despite the fact it contains at least 3 grammatical errors - I still understand what you mean.]

And I agree with chiyo's comments regarding Google's participation here at WebmasterWorld. They are here participating on their own time, not as the "official" voice ~ but as you have seen in the AdSense forum, they can take what they read here back to the Googleplex for the benefit of us :)
I can assure you that Webmasterworld members are very passionate about the subject.
what subject? you mean "AdSense"? of course we are passionate about the subject of AdSense becaused it is about money. Not because it is "fascinating" or something...
