I am using adsense and google search with adsense on a hobby site. I don't expect to make any money from this as the site is about a rock band of which I was a member 30 odd years ago and is of limited interest to anyone else.

There are only 15 pages and the search box and a column of text ads are in an include that appears on every page. The main content for each page is quite different.

The site has been indexed by google for some time (for a few years it has been just single page). I have added a google sitemap and google bot has visited in the last few days.

Google has only indexed 3 pages (one is the index page and the other two are seemingly random choices). The google search box only searches the indexed pages so that if you search for things that aren't on those pages you get the "not found here" message. Which is not much good to anybody. I don't understand why the other pages aren't indexed as the included column of adsense text ads serves dfferent ads on every page, so adsense knows the pages are there why doesn't adsense search know they are there.

I've tried changing my sitemap.xml but this seems to have no effect.

Can anyone suggest a way of getting the google search to work properly or should I forget the google search and look elsewhere for a search script?

Suddenly it is searching every page. Google has now indexed all the pages.

My apologies if this was a stupid question, and all I had to do was wait.

Patience does help.

Know that the adsense bot and the main googlebot are different.

Also take a look at the google webmasters tools, they generally give you an idea of what the googlebot sees from your site.
