First, it says we need to choose a reason for blocking ads, but that option only seems to appear if I select "block only this adgroup" Is that what others are seeing?
Most often I'd want to block the advertiser entirely, or not at all.
Secondly, is there a limit to how many ads/advertisers you can block in a session?
It seems like after a blocking 70 or so ads/advertisers the system stopped accepting additional choices of any kind, block or allow.
I can block or allow additional sites, but that seems to be limited to 1 action per session.
This can't be right, can it?
All that said, it is pretty interesting to see who is targeting the site and with what kind of ads.
An ad group is either placement or contextually targeted. If you block a placement-targeted ad, it will not then appear on your site as a contextually-targeted ad.
Dang :(
Thanks for clearing that up ASA. I was hoping it wasn't going to be the case.
I wouldn't mind, but not for 1c for x amount of impressions. I'd rather block them from placement targeting and make them compete at a better rate with contextual adverts.
My first impressions:
1) Towards the top of the page I opted (as is default) for always allow. But next to some of the advertisers it says allow after 24 hours. Why is this? I would prefer just to allow them all immediately as you suggest in the ARC FAQs.
2) I would like G to say you have X number of advertisers. Reason is I put diplay 100 on the page but there are many many pages of them. I would like to know how many more pages of 100 I have to go through.
3) With so many advertisers, why not be able to list by domain name. I do not care if it is image of text, because some advertisers I will want to allow everything just based on their domain (company) name. That way I could list a lot more on one page and allow everything quicker.
I am sure I will think up a lot more ideas as I only joined 1 day ago.
I do think this is great but it needs work imho. I do think the ability to set ouw own CPC and CPM etc plus the ability to block ads by key words would enhance ARC.
Added in:
In fact it may be easier with so many advertisers to be able to put every advertiser under always allow every advertisement from every advertiser.
Then one weekend when I have more time I can try to go through the hundreds or thousands of advertisers to see if there is anything that needs blocking.

Not true! At least in our case. I just got an ad in our ARC from a competitor which has been in our CAF since the beginning. Actually we only object to certain of their ads, but since there is no way to select the contextual ads for copy content (when they all link to the same page), we had to block them all. It WOULD be nice to have the option in ARC to block only certain ads in a group, but not that big of an issue.
Added: I also have to second that the most irritating part of the program is when you have multiple pages and you block an ad, save the changes and then want to move on to the next page of unviewed ads, it rearranges everything and you pretty much have to start back over from the first page. As I programmer, I'm stumped on a better fix though, other than allowing us to view ALL at once.

I agree that it would be very helpful to know to what site (and channels) the ads are targeted. I would appreciate stats on how long a targeted campaign has been running, how many impressions it has received, and a way to flag a borderline campaign for later review.
There are some inclusions that are clearly in error - I have a targeted ad for example.com - shouldn't that be caught automatically at Google's end?
Being able to split ads by site would be nice. I guess that would also imply blocking by site, but reviewing by site would definitely make sense - some ads that are totally inappropriate for some of my sites make complete sense on others, but currently I can't tell where they will be published.
It would be nice to be able to review targeted ads more expeditiously - and to know how many there are. I'm paging through by the 100's, with no end in sight.
It would be easier if they put page numbers on the ad pages so you could jump from one specific page to another. I do have multiple sites and even setting the ads to a hundred per page there are still too many to easily scroll through. It's like -
"Damn, I forgot to approve one of the cheap mortgage loan ads on page 31. Now I'll have to scroll back to it again from page 1. Oh well, even with this cable modem I should be able to reach that page in under an hour. Maybe I can listen to my iPod to help pass the time. (Listen it Numb by Linkin Park 5 times while scrolling.) Oh wait, here I am on page 31 and the cheap mortgage loan ads aren't here. Hmmmm, let me think, maybe they were really on page 13. I'll simply scroll back through another 18 pages now. I wonder if Linkin Park has come out with any new hit songs I could listen to while I've been sitting here scrolling through my ad review center?"

Wow, what nitch are you guys in? I have about 175 to review, all the ads were great, perfectly targeted to each of my sites they show on. I was actually amazed how great some of the ads were, so perfect for my visitors.
Since lately I am seeing alot of ads from $1-$5cpc and a double dollar digit ecpm, I can't imagine what would happen if I started blocking. (shudders to think)Maybe all this blocking is the reason my end of month daily average is way, way above average?
Thinking on it...
This ad review idea, may turn out really good for me. There is one thing about men that I really hate, their constant tinkering with anything that has moving parts or not, whether it needs tinkering or not. Maybe for once, it will be a really good thing, for me.
Tinker, oh please tinker!
1) Ability to block by industry
2) Ability to block by language
3) When you finish one page of 100, after submitting the changes, don't take me back to page one again
4) Ability to block by ads that are obviously breaking Adwords TOS!
5) Show how many pages of 100 there are
BUT, most importantly -- some means to set a minimum bid. For example I'll block some generic "make millions" advert that is probably earning me a CPM of $0.05, but I'd put up with it if I could set a minimum payment -- in fact in about three quarters of the advertisers I'd blocked, I would have allowed them to stay if I could have set a minimum floor for what they're paying.
All up I blocked about 30% of the ads -- and set it to hold ads pending a review... it seems nobody at Adsense is reviewing them!
I think the system is neat in general, but still not easy to use. My experience with the competitive filter is that you NEVER block any parts of a domain, e.g. subdomain.domain.com or domain.com/widget -- you always enter domain.com, for a simple reason: if a domain ends up in the filter, you don't want to see any of that crap again. I think this would be good for the ARC as well. Just block or unblock advertisers, not ads, not campaigns. Let's have an option for this as well (then we could get radio buttons instead of option menus).
The ad wasn't even listed on May 10th or 11th, let alone approved.
Worse yet, it led to a 404 page and certainly is not an ad I would have approved.
I do have my prefs set to automatically run ads pending approval, but I checked the review center several times over the past two days.
Maybe time to change the prefs.
