Have you tried all the normal tests like,
1: trying a different browser on the same pc
2: checking your system for hijackers, trojans etc
3: clearing out cache

Johncra I think you have an issue with your PC or ISP. Try to reinstall Firefox and see what happens.

Which anti-virus or security packages do you have installed? Plenty block adsense ads as default (very annoying!). I had this problem until I disabled the banner block in Kaspersky Internet Security.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

One site I work with was displaying blank spaces until image ads were turned off. No explanation for the phenomenon, and in the past almost all ads were text anyway. No solution found yet, other than to turn off image ads.

Today, I'm seeing unusually slow delivery from Adsense on some image ads.

Java and Javascript aren't the same, BTW.
