Google Analytics Data Sharing Settings

AdWords I knew of. But AdSense? Hmm...

Logging into Analytics this is what I saw.

In order to improve your experience with Google products, Google Analytics is updating its data sharing policy. You now have the ability to share your Analytics data with other Google services. This will improve integration, enable additional features in Google's advertising services (including Google Analytics, AdWords and AdSense) and improve your experience with these products.

and the button to accept.

AdWords is already somewhat linked, but I didn't know they (could) use Analytics data for improving (?) AdSense optimization.

I wonder if it'd be for the better or for the worse if they 'saw'... uh... no, I mean 'used' what's in there.

Yeah, I was wondering about that myself. I thought Google had all the information they needed already.

Curious to see how adsense is going to be integrated. Wasn't fully awake when I logged in this morning and blindly accepted. Hope I don't end up regretting that.

I'd feel a lot better about opting in if my data would be removed if I opted out.

From the "Learn More" page:

When you opt in to data sharing, we will include data from up to a month before your opt-in date to enable features such as benchmarking. When you opt out, data sharing stops on that day.

If I opt in then opt back out, will my data be removed?

The data collected while you were opted in will not be removed when you opt out.

This looks interesting to me, so I enabled it. I can use all of the AdSense help that I can get. Also, the benchmarking thing looks interesting so I'm trying that.

So how can we benefit from it? where do you find Adsense related config there?

I opted in the other day. So far I havent' seen anything different.
