Hi

I have made a few adsense sites in the UK showing UK ads which have been working well. I have looked to expand to the U.S and created a site aimed for a U.S audience filled with keywords and titles mentioning the united states and regions within the states.
The site is still showing UK ads. How can i change this.

A few ideas
1) Host site on a U.S server
2) Create a new adsense account (though google dont approve of having more than one account)
3) It just so happens that UK ads are showing because it is a more competitive field in the UK than the US

Any advice would be greatly received

I recon the ads will be targeted based on your IP - you are in the UK so you will see UK ads.

You should however host your site in the USA as it could help rankings.

Just transferred it over to a US hosting company and am still showing UK ads. We are generating traffic by PPC anyway so we arent too bothered about natural rankings. Any other ideas on how to display US ads?

try looking at the site via a US based proxy and see

what rj87uk is saying is that ads are targeted to the visitor, you're not in the US, why would it show you US ads

You can also switch the geo preference in the preview tool.

They are. If you access the same site from a different country you will see different adverts.

The server the site is on makes no difference, all that Adsense cares about is where the visitor is accessing the site from.

well, I'm not sure that is 100% true, but it may be true that it doesn't matter much to AdSense

I moved a site of mine from a UK host to a US host back in December and it made absolutely no difference to Adsense NOR it's position in the SERPs.

From what I can see I could host my site on the moon and it would make no difference, - well apart from the fact the moon only has dial up connections so it would be slow:)
