Understanding AdSense for Search

Is there a way to append a GET variable in a link to a Google Search to get your publisher ID to count when the user clicks the ads on this page?

Also, why use separate spiders to crawl Google Search and AdSense stuff?

You can use google custom search instead these days - it's a new thing but much less nasty than the old adsense search. Still possible to connect it to the adsense account though - kind of works as your suggestion.

I used to think the Adsense for Search was a bit on the sucko side until I tried the Google CSE.

Now the Google Custom Search adsense ads makes up a decent chunk of my income :)
