In order to show Google ads on your site you first need to sign up to Google Adsense. This involves filling out an online form. Your application will then be reviewed by a member of Google's staff. Once your account is approved you will be able to access your control panel.

From within your Adsense control panel you will be able to obtain your Adsense code. The code is what you need to place on your pages in order for the ads to be shown.

Your Adsense account pages also allow you to view your stats, update your account details etc.

Your first stage is to sign up for an account.

What is Google adsense

It's a program ran by Google that allows website owners to generate revenue from their own website by showign Google adverts.

Before you sign up you do need to have a website up and running.

The reason for this is Google will evaluate the site you submit to them when they are approving your account. If you do not already have a website now is the time to start building one.

If you have little or no experience setting up and running a website I suggest you have a look through the new to web development forum [webmasterworld.com] . You will be able to get some good advise over there.

If you already have a website, and are simply looking to set up your Adsense then please have a look though the Adsense library [webmasterworld.com].

Jeff Schiller - presumably your Mandarin is really good then, is it?

We are a webmaster community. We help each other collectively, as human beings, regardless of our first language and regardless of our competence in English (the language of this forum).

Maybe, but you really have to wonder how the poster is even going to understand the answers he gets.

English isn't my first language either (so I am glad people here overlook my errors) but at some point, you have to make yourself somewhat comprehensible or you're better off in a forum that uses your native language, for everyone's sake.

Maybe it would have been best if I simply ignored this thread (which I usually do if I have nothing to contribute, I don't want to appear rude), but I understand jomaxx's point. I know of another forum, which was normally interesting, that is almost overrun by non native speakers and half of the threads now gives me a headache.

Not that your average 15 years old american is much better anyway (actually, teenagers in the whole world don't seem to value literacy as much as they used to with their bad texting habits, but that's another topic)*

Still, I like the maturity, clarity and general level of education of this place, and redirecting someone to a better suited site, when necessary, should probably be valued as a constructive reply.

* I have a site where visitors can comment and I specifically block all those stupid SMS abbreviated terms. It seems to have the beneficial effect of discouraging undesirable members and attracting the more mature crowd, I highly recommend the practice.

Free Blog:
[blogger.com...]

You will need to have good information, posts or something that everyone will understand first.

The amount of money you make will depend on how much traffic you are getting to your blog / website.

rj thanks for the links buddy.

I'm pretty surprized by some of the replies here. there are a lot of members who use english as a second language. I only speek English, so I can only imagine how difficult it must be for any poster to ask questions here in their non native language.

we are a world wide community, when someone posts a question we should focus on a possible reply, not waste time discussing the quality of the posters english.

our replies are what users will base their oppinion of the site based on. Lets keep it possative.

The poster doesn't even have to know English, since Google's official AdSense home page is available in 32 languages.

Absolutely, which is why it shouldn't be that hard to find a forum in the poster's native language, or at least one in which he is more fluent than English.

I'm the last person to chide non-native English speakers over matters of grammar or spelling, but anyone who keeps calling the program "add sense" is either putting us on or is clearly destined to make a horrible violation of the TOS through sheer incomprehension.
