when they should be 2008.
took a look around my site few minutes ago and found them (wasn't hard to find, LOL) and quick put them in the filter but it takes forever for it to remove them.

What is up with Google? All the errors, weird actions and now this.

Google, Please get it together.

Anyone else seeing this?

It's more likely a clueless advertiser than anything to do with Google. But yeah, an ad like that definitely merits a spot on the filter.

Tim,

Thanks for the reply.

if it is a clueless advertizer then ther are several different ones as clueless as each other.

LOL, the advertizers just wenr bonkers!

I'd say you're pretty lucky Ann, mine are screaming 1999 business models!

No kidding! I wonder are they asleep at the wheel or just need to hire somebody that will pay attention to the ads as well as the money. :)

one merchant i am affiliated with still has 2006 in his ads - hope that my ads with 2008 in it surpass him quite soon in adposition.

I recall seeing some Holiday ads a little over a week ago. No year attached but certainly out of date.

Yea, this is an ongoing thing for me. On my events site, I would get ads in July or August for stuff like wine tasting events that took place the previous March. People just seem to forget they're running. The other thing is, AdWords could make it a little easier and more obvious that you can set up campaigns with an end date too (which is what I did for my clients who were running, for example, holiday ads - I had them all end on 12/24)

This sort of thing is everywhere. A few days ago I was walking and a print shop had a sign on the sidewalk that said, "Come in and get a free 2006 calendar." My guess is that the calenars are actually current but they made the sign in 2006 and didn't want to make a new one since then.

no glitch for me. just like netmeg, on my events site i receive annoying outdated ads for past events.

two things to consider:

- advertisers must be called attention to fix their ads as it is only good for their roi

- google must kick such ads out of the program despite their apparently still above average click performance as it looks ridiculous and destroys network credibility

I've got a santa claus image ad showing on one of my sites. Pretty silly.
