Any way to exclude a portion of page from AdSense spider?

I was wondering if there's any way to exclude a portion of a page - for example, a navigation section - when Adsense indexes the page to determine which ads to serve.

For example, if every page has a navigation bar(including submenus) with 40 links for blue widgets and only 5 links for red widgets, is there some way to exclude that section from the Adsense spider on the red widget pages? That way, the majority of links on the red widget pages would be for red widgets, and (hopefully) there would be more ads for red widgets than for blue ones on these pages.

See this help file from Google

[google.com...]

For excluding sections see the part about weight=ignore

Thank you - that is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I'm going to try it and see if it makes a difference this month.

And in my experience, it doesn't work that great...

Well... you must remember, that for these tags to take effect, your page must be re-spidered, and that can take weeks in some situations.

That being said, my empirical observations are that these tags, and the tags that highlight content you want targeted, don't have any effect at all, one way or the other.
