Please don't post new features you'd like to see, there have been several threads on that topic.
Post things you have questions about and can't seem to find a solid explanation. Look at it as a wish list of topics if Google were to develop a thorough AdSense FAQ.
FarmBoy
What would you like to have clarified by AdSense?
Well, you asked.
-----------
Some automated indication as to why you are receiving the cost per click you do.
"Google considers your content insufficient (<500 characters) length for maximum income".
"Your content (internet marketing) is penalized reducing your maximum income per click"
These triggers must be already being used, so identifying it would help webmasters choose better content.
----------------
!
eg.
(1) This page has little content, but 3 adblocks. The site owner should limit ads to 1 for this page, or increase content for the page.
(2) Here is an example of a page presenting barely enough content to warrant placing adsense on it, the user should add more content.
(3) Here is an example of a page with good amounts of content.
(4) Here is an example of a page where the content is not unique enough to warrant being in the adsense program. The site owner could improve the content by adding reviews, unique descriptions etc
(5) Here is a page which breaches Google's Webmaster Quality guidelines because content is not unique. The Webmaster could bring the page into Google's Webmastert Guidlines by adding unqiue description, adding user reviews etc
If google is unable to risk exposing its algorthyms by commenting on real sites and relies on refering webmaster to a set of broad rules that do not contain finite constraints, some extreme examples of good and bad would allow a webmaster to see potential problems with their site.
Today I've been searching for a link or button to create a new campaign. This is something that should be easy to find. I expected it to be somewhere near the buttons for things like removing campaigns, but it wasn't there.
I ended up looking in the help text, copying the text for the function I was looking for from it, into my browser's search facility, and thus finding the link.
Really, this shouldn't be necessary. Google is well capable of developing clearer user interfaces than this.
If i have a url channel setup for a directory, that provides data for 'all' pages within that directory. If i want to view data just for that index page of a url/directory, I have to setup ads with channel tracking for just that page. Is there an easier way to view url channel data for the url/directory/ root page of a directory being tracked.
It would be nice to have some indication of when the stats were last updated. (Like a time/date stamp)
This morning I nearly had a heart attack when I saw my stats but then I remembered - "This is AdSense. Don't Panic." A few hours later I got a huge click dump so all is well.
Open discussions with publishers of what they're doing (they wouldn't need to go into details that would give advantage to unethical spammers) and why and when you can expect change would be helpful.
Detailed explanations of how smart pricing works and what triggers it would be useful.
Overall, devising a system where they could work with their partners in an open, respectful manner, instead of setting new rules all the time without any explanation that causes serious problems for publishers.
Maybe "do no evil" would work....
