Advertisers around the world are expected to double their spending on the Internet during the next three years as more people get their news and entertainment on the Web instead of television, radio, newspapers and magazines. The trend is expected to create an $80 billion online ad market in 2010, up from an estimated $40 billion last year.

Could be good news for Adsensers--if the advertisers join the Content Network!

Companies can be unpredictable. There's one firm in my industry that doesn't advertise at all online, but it's all over TV. Its top competitor, on the other hand, has TV ads and is all over the Content Network. Another big player only uses magazine ads and who knows if it will ever go online.

Some evidence that companies might invest more in Internet Advertising comes from the latest news from Six Flags:

Six Flags officials, who want to cut loose one of the company's three advertising agencies, plan to reduce radio spending and concentrate more on Internet-driven opportunities that will attract more teens.

This is a company in trouble, and their CEO realizes that moving money from radio and TV to the Internet, where it will cost less and target more, could result in substantial savings.

This bodes well if we're in a recession, as webmasters could benefit.
