10 clicks from same IP in 5 minutes and on same page

Is it necessary to report Google about this?

It isn't your job to track where clicks are coming from--Google has its own filters to do that. Still, if you suspect that you may the victim of a click attack, it might not hurt to tell Google Support. If nothing else, that will suggest that you aren't responsible for the questionable clicks. (After all, why would you click on your own ads and then tell Google about it?)

FWIW, I've been a click-attack victim a couple of times. Each time, I told Google that I was seeing an unusual rise in clicks (one time, it was more than $1,300 in a single day). They said "Thanks," and I didn't get the blame.

What I would do is block that I.P. address using the .htaccess file. Here is how:

Order Deny,Allow
Deny from 123.456.789

why would you block it, that seems a bit over the top.

what if it is an AOL ip or some other with many users on it?

also, the code you posted is missing an octet

10 clicks from one IP in a short time is not unheard of, especially if it is in an AdLinks block. Some visitors are selecting many options in the AdLinks lists and do comparison shopping. In that case you should be happy with it, and not block that IP.

In general there are better things than tracing all sources of AdSense clicks, like adding new unique content to your site for example.

Agree with EFV. No harm in letting Adsense know if you feel something is amiss. Just shows that you are concerned about keeping your account in good standing.

If your site is old enougf and has a good repo with google adsense i dont think it is necessary to report anything. but if you have recently being a part of the adsense family then there is no harm reporting google adsense about this

Would also like to know how have you tracked those clicks and how did you got those IP address cause i am not aware if this facility is avalable at google adsense and if we are using a code or anyscript added or merged into google adsense code then the question is IS IT LEGAL? find it out first if anything like this is allowed..

I use asRep tracking script and have not changed adsense code in any way.

Ok, I'm not going to send mail to Google. I have shown adsense ads on my pages now for 2,5 years. Thank you for your replies.

Looking at my site stats I regularly see people come back to my site from the same Google search over a period of minutes so I wouldn't be surprised by this. IF it happens repeatedly then it might attract attention.
