The newest post in the Adsense blog has some good news: Adsense referrals will be reinstated to all Adsense publishers (although it will only be possible to make money from America and Japan users), but it also contains some bad news: the revenue for two other referrals (Google Pack and Firefox with Google toolbar) are to be reduced by half!

This is quite bad news for me, as two thirds of my revenue come from those referrals, so I'll be replacing the current advertisement spots for those products with more profitable advertisement. Is there a lot of people in the same situation? Is there an viable alternative in the pay-per-install field?

That makes sense. Google Pack is nothing more than a bundle of products that can be downloaded separately, as needed. Those products only benefit Google if the downloader actually uses them. And they're far more likely to use them if they specifically chose the product, rather than got it as a bundle. Kind of like all that junk that comes with a PC. Who ever uses all of that stuff?

The relationship between Google and Firefox is sort of puzzling. Why would Google actively endorse a browser which in turn actively endorses an ad blocker that blanks out AdSense ads? (Ad-block Plus is one of Firefox's "Recommended Add-ons")

I think Google should buy Firefox, brand it as their own and hard-wire it so ad blockers never work in it :)
