I want to periodically take all my urls in my competitive filter and auto check them to see if some are now "dead" and can be deleted from the list.

I had hoped to use Xenu to do this, but it won't check unless each url has the http portion in front of it, and of course the filter items don't.

I know I can use a macro to edit the text file of competitive urls and insert the http portion, but that's a bit of a pain.

Anyone have any better suggestions? Sofware, Something?

You can create a simple script to insert the [www....] in front of each dot.com

Then run a link checker through all of your filtered URLs to see which ones report a 404 error.

Then have the script automatically delete the bad ones, and output a list of the good ones. Then all you have to do is copy and paste it into the competitive ad filter.
