Hi everyone,

Just wanted to give you early notice that we have another round of system maintenance scheduled for this Saturday, Jan 12, starting at 10am PT.

As you know, you won't be able to access your account for about four hours, but your ad display won't be affected, and stats and earnings will continue to accrue in your account during this time.

Thanks for your patience,
-ASA

Earnings are so low, that I think something like this is really needed.

Hopefully the MFAs will be cleand and few other good things for publishers can come out.

Looking forward.

Isn't our earning going down each time there is a maintenance?

Some believe it doesn't necessarily represent good news.

I'd like to point out that system maintenance doesn't necessarily mean (and probably doesn't mean) that they're going to fix or change anything we'd notice. Routine maintenance can consist of upgrading processors, backing up data, testing/upgrading backup power systems, etc. In all likelihood, system maintenance won't affect anything we discuss here.

They have so much redundancy they can perform any hardware task without taking the system down. It's not like they run AdSense CP off one server.
History tells us there will be threads about "whatever" action/maintenance they take.

Hey!

I can't get into my AdSense account! Is it down for maintenance or something?

I can understand creating a new thread about Adsense being down without having seen this one first. But how do you post a question about Adsense being down, in a thread about Adsense being down for maintenance?

It could be somthing to do with the 'Choose what ads you want to display' option which is coming soon for publishers. :)

My ad targeting is very good 98% of the time. It is absolute garbage today. It started being bad about the same time as the maintenance did.

It's almost 3pm PT and I can't login. Hopefully they're busy adding extra 0's to my previous earnings. If they could add an extra zero or two to each day's earnings, I'd like that :)

targeting was ok for me today

Yeah, it's back but earnings reports are at the pre-maintenance level (or a little better) as of 6 pm EST.

Yeah I wish I didn't login, very disappointing to say the least.

- Top channels still not sorted by earnings (4 weeks now?)
- Clicks and ad impressions much much under reported

there we go again!

Seems it's got a lot of catching up to do.

Sooo... Anyone see anything different (besides impressions catching up slowly)? I don't. I was hoping at least for the new targeted ad filtering they promised. Bummer.
I almost applauded when I saw my eCPM about double normal, until I realized it was jut because the impressions hadn't caught up with the clicks yet and thus my CTR was double normal also, but PPC was only normal.

Looks like the "maintenance" itself needs maintenance. Ugh.

it will turn out to be a normal day when all is done. just like all maintenance earnings don't change during it. just the reporting of it is not available for a period of time ... and in this case delayed. I am seeing clicks and $ up and impressions haven't changed a lot. My ctr and ecpm are very high because of this. i'm sure the total for the day will be the same as any other day would be without maintenance.

Yea, earnings did catch up, but hope for other fixes diminished. I miss 2006
