temporary issues with RSS feeds

will google penalize?

I have one page with only uses RSS feeds for content. I also have google ads on that page! the news feed has been down for a while and so the page pretty much has no content!

Would Google penalize me for having google ads on a page with no content? Considering that this page has had content (using RSS feeds from other sites) for a while now and it has only faced this issues for a few days?

Do you think I should add at least one paragraph on this page to avoid any penalties if this were to happen again?

Also what I found interesting is that the Google ads still show related ads even when the RSS feeds have displaying errors!
