Around the end of November I have posted here [webmasterworld.com...] that it was the first month I broke the $5/day barrier getting more than $150/month for the first time in 1.5 years.

Since and till today I am averaging $15/day that's 3x more than what I used to get with only one new content page.

I am adding more pages everyday but I know from my stats that the reason for this raise is that single page which has some Christmas freebies etc... google alone is sending me 600+ unique a day on it.

Anyway I know this hype will die as Christmas finishes my question is how can I make maximum use of the few days I still have left to keep my readers and keep this amount after the holiday season.

Thank you for your insights

Nice work!

You are talking about retaining the same traffic everyday after Christmas. Correct? This is a good question. I might think about this for a while...

As for retaining visitors, what has worked EXTREMELY well for me are my forums, newsletter, free services, etc...By doing this about 37% of my visitors are all return visitors.

Is there some way you could offer these same free services for EVERY holiday? And maybe start a message forum, or newsletter or something?

These could all be ways to retain users and your traffic throughout the year. Just throwing some thoughts out there.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question

1) I already have a mailing list with about 400 subscribers and 400+ rss readers

2) I will surely try to come up with something for every holiday

3) is 37% returning visitors good? I have about 27% returning and I thought that was WAY too low!

thanks again

I am adding more pages everyday...

Stop from time to time and take an objective look at your situation. You'll want to be sure you're getting a sufficient ROI from that increased investment of your time and effort.

Yeah, Feedburner works pretty well at giving you reader stats, etc...I use it as well.

I need to research that percentage of return visitors, but I was thinking around 40% return visitors was a pretty good number. (anyone else have an answer to this question?) What's the average return rate?
