Hi RanchoCaGuy,

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, You should note that personal URls are not allowed, but to answer your query we probably need more info.

Have you just added the code? If so it could be that Google don't know what to show and are showing PSAs. Do you have other URLs in AdSense? Are they showing decent ads?

If you let us know what your circumstances are without giving specifics I'm sure someone will be able to help.

Oops, sorry about that.

Yes, I added the code I got from google adsense. This is my first time doing this and my first URL with adsense. I am so new at this I don't know what to tell you. I got approved for adsense today and followed the linds to get the HTML code, then I put it in the web page. How does adsense know what ads to put in there? Do I need to tell it?

Thanks and again sorry for the personal URL in the first post.

If you don't want to see those PSAs, then setup your code with an "alternate color". Instead, you will see a blank area that matches your background color.

I got approved for adsense today

A lot of PSA's in the beginning is not unusual. Just make sure you're getting at least some regular ads. If so, then you'll see less of those hurricane relief fund ads in time.

I visited your site before it was removed from your post. To be honest, I don't see any value to any potential advertiser. No, it's not a made for AdSense site (actually it's just one web page) but I'm quite surprised that it was approved for the AdSense program.

RanchoCaGuy, welcome to WebmasterWorld.
A couple of things to remember, your site has to be spidered by Mediapartners-Google, so if your robots.txt file is blocking all bots, you won't get spidered. Plus it takes a little time for them to spider and determine relevant ads to display.
Second point, to help googlebot determine what should be used for ad generation, place the following tag at the beginning of the paragraph or page, inside the <body> </body> tag
<!-- google_ad_section_start -->

At the end of the paragraph or section, still inside the <body> </body> tag, end it with
<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

I'm quite surprised that it was approved for the AdSense program.

I never cease to be amazed as to what receives approval.

Parked domains are one example but I never understand what googlebot sees on virtually blank pages with "this site for sale".

A more recent example came to my attention with an email alert from Google of a site linking to my content.

Of course it was a pseudo search engine or bottom scraper.

I complained to AdSense on 25th November and received a reply two days later assuring me:

As of thirty seconds ago, the site is still running AdSense along the top at 728 X 90 and down the RH side are two lots of 336 X 280, one below the other.

There is ZERO content on the page excepting a local search form with my site's URL hard encoded and two other Google search boxes on the page along with a series of other advertisements below AdSense on RH side.

Absolute ZERO content. Why is this publisher allowed to remain in AdSense?

Personally I'm struck with total disbelief.
