Hey guys I have a real problem, when using my word press blog google seems to be showing ads for just certain keywords.

Assume I have 5 posts on my home page,
1 post about widgets
3 posts about dogs
1 post on cats.

When I visit the post on widgets I am still getting ads about dogs. It is killing off my CTR when one page becomes very popular and yet G is still serving Ads for dogs.

Now I know can use the Google Adsense targeting code, though I have no idea how to use it, but if I have ten posts on the home page can I use that every time. It just seems so buggy, and if I use it so many times will Google ban me?

Help here!

I'm not a pro but if there is ONE thing I learned over the past 1.5 years with adsense and Blogging (since I am a blogger) is that a blog should be LASER targeted to avoid these stuff.

Don't put many subjects in one blog it will kill your audience and your CTR and, as you already know, site targeting.

Open a new blog for every contents this is the way to go

when you say laser targeted please define. Say for instance that my site is on drugs, we can review hundreds of drugs, like one for weight loss and then one for weight gain. How can I focus on one aspect and let Adsense deliver relevant ADs.

What I have tried to do is put in ad section targeting in the post it self, that has been met with limited success, so far then I think that Google takes about 1 - 2 days to get it right. My first site that I put Google Adsense on they took a while to target the right ads, that was way back in May 2006 and I know Adsense has come a long way since then, but is it just a teething time period.

1. in the first example you gave a dog and a widget that's not targeted at all, now you make more sense.

2. how old is your site? it might take a few weeks for the correct ads to start showing
