Did Adsense reset smart pricing since the ad units change?

Some sites seem to benefit from a higher EPC

I noticed that on some sites, although the CTR may have dropped slightly (more on some) since the change on the clickable area, the EPC seems to have risen to levels seen only in the first months of a new web site. Are they compensating for the change, or giving some sites another chance at gathering better conversion stats?

It seems kind of quick for Smart Pricing to have made an adjustment, but I suspect it is possible.

Given the predicted drop in accidental clicks is seems reasonable that the likelihood of the remaining clicks converting would go up. If that happens it seems reasonable that Smart Pricing would made an upward adjustment in the click price, both to the advertiser and the publisher.

[added]Of course that all presumes the value of a click had been Smart Priced downward in the past.[/added]

This is a step in the right direction. In the past 48 hours, about 2 days worth of stats, I'm seeing a slight drop in CTR but a nice increase in the ECP. Not quite as good as the pre October 2007 trends, but not too shabby.
