Here is my question: Is it legal or not to do this? I heard somewhere that Google encourages users to post YouTube/Google Video videos on their own websites to enrich their content and make the site even more attractive. I totally agree with that and I hope they really said that. I was just wondering of this is true, can something please confirm this to me?
Ex: I create a page talking about a Beatles song. The song is called Let It Be and I have a section in that page that gives you the lyrics of that song ( so that you can sing along, =) ) and another section where you can read info about that song ( when it was recorded, some trivia, etc...) pretty much like the information we read on Wikipedia when we search for a song there. And of course, placing a YouTube/GVideo video on that page wouldn't be a bad idea, since that would make the content on my page even more rich. And of course, I would place 1 or 2 AdSense units at the left of the page. Is that legal or Google does not let you do this kind of embeding?
Let's say I want to post physics lectures on my site. Could I have for instance, a page where I explain on text the lecture and at the top have a YouTube/GVideo of that lecture so that users can watch that and learn even more?
I believe that's the kind of "fair use" Google is looking for on its users to use YouTube and Gooogle Video on their sites and enrich their content. I guess what Google does not want is a bunch of videos for you to watch and place lots of AdSense just to make money, but to use videos to enrich my site, thats a good idea that Google might agree with.
Also, if you think about it, Google owns AdSense and owns YouTube. So technically, posting AdSense on pages that contain YouTube videos.
Also, I was thinking of posting a copyright notice on every single page that contains YouTube or Google Videos, something like "This video is hosted by Google and has no affiliation with this site. Please visit their official website here". Should I do that or not? Is that a good idea or should I just let that go?
I'm sorry for posting so many questions. =) It's probably a question many people have been asking and are probably wondering the same thing. Thanks for reading and for the big help!
