New to referrals and confused as hell

Hi guys, I'm trying to set my referrals up with relevant ads my members will take advantage of.

I only want text links, nothing more. So I set up a couple, one for a mobile IM client which works great and is converting insanely well. The second is for ringtones, the conversion pay is $10.77. I set up the link and yet I see a link for mobile software which leads to some awful looking website that I don't want to be associated with. What's worse is they pay me $0.01 per conversion for software they're selling for $35.

I've added this url to the competitive site filter but to no avail.

I'm not sure why the ringtone ads are not showing and yet this random one is.

With referrals, I understood that we at least had control of which products we referred but this doesn't seem to be the case. Why allow us to choose and then display some awful ad that pays 0.01.

I'm confused and getting annoyed.

I just spoke to a friend in the US who owns a mobile phone site. He's having the same problem with the same company.

hmmmm

So far today I've had over 1,000 clicks on this referral and about 100 conversions and every time being paid 0.01. It only happens with this ad, the one I didn't select and trying to block.

This is seriously effecting my earnings. *sigh*

Just for the heck of it, try contacting AdWords support instead of AdSense support.

Strangely enough. Up until this query I've had a response to every question I've submitted to the adsense team, usually within a day.

This particular question has gone gone unanswered. Perhaps they're trying to fix an exploitation or something.

These guys don't even show in the list of referrals but manage to take up almost all of my impressions.

I might give it a go though - contacting adwords...

We've had so many conflicting descriptions of and explanations for this problem that I went in to find the original ringtone offer you're describing, and I couldn't find it.

All I can suggest is to drop that particular offer because it's obviously not working, until Google gets back to you.

Hi Jomaxx,

What do you mean by conflicting descriptions or my problem. As far as I'm aware the only description I've given is the one I've given here.

The problem isn't with a particular offer, it happens regardless of which referrals I choose. I get this affiliate paying 0.01 per conversion being shown more often than my other high paying referrals.

As I said earlier the problem isn't isolated to our company, it's happening on other mobile content websites too.

You've described your problem in various ways in at least 3 other threads.

Plus in post 1 of THIS thread you specifically say that one of the referral programs converts great and your problem is that the second (ringtone) program leads to a completely different offer. You've got to come up with one story and stick to it.

Perhaps your misunderstanding my post, perhaps I didn't explain myself well. But right now you're the one being an ass.

I'd just like to find an answer to my problem with referrals.

In my original post, the issue was only arising when I selected the said ringtone ad but I've since discovered it happens regardless of which ad I select. The problem referral isn't available in the referrals list and I've not opted in for it.

Right now, unless I remove referrals entirely, I can't stop this problem ad from showing.

I didn't make this thread to pass smart arse remarks back and forth. So if you want to help, please be my guest, if you want to argue, hijack another thread.
