I have several content strong sites on varying subjects. The first site I used adsense on did better than expected but a second site (4 times more hits) does significantly worse.

Will adding the Search feature improve things for the second site?

From my experience and what I read here there is not much to be made from Googles' search.

Even so, search can be good for the usefulness and time spent at your site. A higher amount of visitor time can turn into more AdSense clicks.

I've replaced another 3rd party site search with Google's vriety. It bags about 25% of the income of AdSense for that site, but it also has a CTR of around 25%. This means a quarter of all people searching my site, leave it subsequently.

To me this is an indication that the ads are TOO prominent and are confused for real search results (which may only apear below the fold).

It's no big deal on an info site, but I think it's a mistake on Google's part as such clicks are worth less then the more deliberate kind.
