Adsense showing plain white blocks - no ads

Our ad blocks are showing plain white blocks instead of adverts. As we have all ad blocks set to display PSAs, this should naturally not occur.

It looks like the impressions are being counted, but obviously users cannot click the invisible adverts.

It seems that this only occurs in I.E. as, after checking it in Firefox, all the ads showed up fine.

Is anyone (still) having this problem, is there a cure that we can perform (other than removing the ads ;) )?

Any guideance or solutions would be appreciated.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld kevinashby. As the ads work in Firefox, the problem is almost certainly browser-related not AdSense-related.

You are probably running an ad-blocking program of some sort, either intentionally or unintentionally (many anti-virus suites include ad-blocking software). So check what processes are running that you don't know about.

Thanks for the welcome and the response encyclo,

We don't have any adblocking on our computers and the problem only seems to occur sporadically.

We tested two machines at the same time with one showing the ads and the other not showing the ads. Then a little later (only a minute or two) the machine that was not showing the ads suddenly decided it was a good time to show the ads again.

Any clues?

Is this incremental? Normally this will happen for 5 minutes or so here and there, just glitcheyness in the system. Longer or more frequent than that, then you really have a problem.

Hi Khensu,

That seems to be the pattern, but it has been happening a lot more frequently since last weeks Adsense maintenance / glitches. We had never seen this on our sites before.
