Unauthorised Use Of My Pub ID

how to allow google cached pages to display my ads

Yesterday I checked my referrals stats, something I don't do often, and to my astonishment the porducts list was huge. The only products I promote are Google Pack & Firefox so alarm bells started ringing.

After a quick look over everything at my end I knew I hadn't made any mistakes so the only answer was someone was using my publisher id.

Of course I remember I could use the 'allowed sites' feature so I filed in the list with all the appropriate sites.

This morning I checked to see what changes had taken place. In the 'unauthorised sites' list I found the culprits. To be honest I have no idea who or what they are as all that is listed are numeric IP addresses.

It all seems a little strange.

The other problem I came across was how do I allow google to show my ads as I get a lot of views via image search cached versions. For example in the 'unauthorised sites' list was 64.233.179.104 - a google page, I can't add every data centre to the list. Any suggestions?

Once you take care of the allowed sites feature, you are totally protected. The people who use your publisher id could be evildoers who want to get you banned (unlikely since most people/businesses don't have such personal/business enemies) but more likely scrapers - I have seen teenagers copy and paste the whole code from "view source" page and paste it into their blog if they liked something.

Check your allows sites list daily and add any Google IPs you find. Slow process but thats the way it works apparently. The ones you allow may take closer to 2 weeks to disappear from the list. Whatever servers Googles uses for cached pages should show in the list like everything else. Your impressions drop as the allowed sites filters are activated but after 2 or 3 weeks phasing it in you will see return to normal impressions.

Thanks for the replies.

I've started adding the Google IPs though the only annoying thing is the offending referrals still show up in the products list.

Hold on a sec. I recently started using referrals for the first time (but turned them off after two weeks because I made ten cents).

When I first looked at my referral stats, I saw TONS of products, none I had signed up for, all with zero clicks (but that screen doesn't show impressions). Are you perhaps seeing the normal operation of this report?
