I need to always be reminded by posts like these not to get discouraged by Adsense, and that it usually takes years for a steady stream of income to be produced out of Adsense. I must keep reminding myself that I am only in like my sixth month, and that I still have quite a ways to go!

Keep up the good work!

I'm in my 30th month and earnings are still like a roller coaster ride.

A better way to compare site/network performance is by earnings per 1000 ads served, comparing total earnings assumes you received the same amount of traffic and clicks.

Most site owners over time see a rise in traffic, clicks and overall earnings, that does not mean that most people are doing better year after year.

My second best year was 2005.

My best year was 2005. It's been downhill since.

Go get um Jettero!

I double my traffic and earnings every three months, so ever year is always better. (Don't ask, I work 70 hrs a week on it)

Well so far my earnings have been on the rise, and after about a year of running my site, my traffic also increase though 25% each month. I also spend some time fixing up keyword structure, adding a couple pages of content daily, and always getting new members. I find that basically, the more I work on the site, the more Adsense goes up. Same goes for traffic for me. The more traffic, more Adsense goes up.

I would say that at this point I spend about 40 hours a week on the site.

I started Adsense sometime in 2005, and back then I thought Adsense was great. Then came a very good 2006: daily revenue almost doubled, compared to 2005, and I knew that 2005 was mediocre. 2007 is still better than 2005 but way below 2006, despite having added a lot of unique content since then. Only an okay-ish first half of 2007 saved this year.

In terms of eCPM (with 2005 being 100):

2005 = 100
2006 = 126
2007 = 98

Yeah I make now as much as in my first adsense month. This year is saved by 3 really good month, since then CTR is falling, not ecpm.

Essentially adding new content just makes up for the losses in increasing adblindness. Traffic has increased in these 2 years, people stay longer and bounce less.

Rationally it's better to invest the 70 hours and more in other income streams, adsense is a sideline that will increasingly become worse until most people have understood that it is not a fast get rich scheme. Maybe there is a chance when all them give up and the content network becomes less MFAy.

The constant devaluing of content seems to continue. My gf just got a phone where you can send your pics directly to blogger ... I saw a guy on youtube reaching top positions cause he took hundreds of 5 second videos of take away meals. Webpages with 1/3 content the rest ads and users comment on these pages..

Anyway congrats jetter, wished I could do the same.. :)

On target to have the best year ever too. Falling ecpm made up through more content/traffic.

By the middle of June this year, I hit the revenue I made for all of 2006. And that was BEFORE my peak traffic hit. I'm at 275% of last year's revenue now, and it keeps getting better. I'm cool.

eCPM tells more:
In terms of eCPM (with 2005 being 100):

2005 = 100 (nov - dec)
2006 = 240 (jan - dec)
2007 = 501 (jan - oct)

Another way to compare years is $ per click

In my case:
(with 2005 being 100):

2005 = 100 (nov - dec)
2006 = 166 (jan - dec)
2007 = 300 (jan - oct)
