OK, whilst I have have google adsense running for a few years now, the last 12 months have declined so low that I was almost giving up

Page views & visitors up + unique regular content added, but the $$ keep on going down (not a forum or blog)

So, 3 months ago, I started the google adsense referrals in place of some blocks.

Fair enough, a few $5 token gesture payments started coming in, then very recently, a $250!

Maybe I should replace all my blocks with these now, and let others sign up to adsense and make their money, whilst I sit back and collect the referral commissions...

If you sit back you won't be collecting anything.

I suspect a return visitor gave you the commision, it takes site trust and seeing something new to complete affiliate deals.

One nice payout doesn't make a trend, of course if you keep getting them, do share the secrets.

i agree, i must say that im one of those that have served ads for years, always done the right thing, and never tried to dupe the system, and whilst i now have 75% + more visitors that 1 year ago, the ad income has gone to you know what!

so rather than ditch adsense altogether, this referrals seem like the way to go, especially given my site content actually suits the ad perfectly!

There is no one good answer. We have had terrible experience with affiliate programs but AdSense has brought us serious money to our topline.
