Double CTR today?

Should I be worried? So far today, I have a 10% CTR with 100 clicks. For the past year steady, it has been around 4.5%-5.5%. It has NEVER been above 6%, let alone 10%+!

I don't want Google to think I am doing anything wrong, so should I be concerned?

Should you be concerned? No.

If it makes you feel better, email adsense and voice your concerns. They've seen spikes like this before though. It's no big thing. When it becomes a big thing is when it becomes a daily occurance.

Seems to me they are just slow reporting page views today, but are up to speed on clicks. Gives and artificially high looking eCPM. Check again in the morning:-)

If those were my stats, I won't be worried. One thing I would be tempted to look at is to see if there's a new ad appearing on the site. It may just be targetted very well to your visitors.

lol...it was an advertisement that had flames in the background and said "DO NOT CLICK THIS IF YOU ARE UNDER 18!"

I've never seen that before, so I assume thats why my CTR has been higher...

So if your visitors are mainly under 18, the ad is pretty well targeted! ;o)

I just took a look at my results since you mentioned it. CTR is double here too, at first glance. I checked out the advanced report and it is showing a rash of impressions that aren't on the reports page. It's just a delayed updating thing in my case.

You don't need to be concerned unless you are doing something wrong.
