Since then, there have been many threads of publishers noting that AdSense is not running properly, or running only in fits and spurts.
See theses threads.

For today, my own site is currently showing roughly about half the page views and half the clicks that would be normal for this time of day. I am certain that when I review today’s stats my server will show totally normal traffic and since I have AdSense ads on most of the pages on my site, those two facts virtually prove Google is having major problems with the implementation of AS.
I believe this is most likely due to issues caused by the premature installation of the program implementing “Allowed Sites” for publishers which was clearly “not ready for prime time”. I think we are now seeing the results of the mad scramble behind the scenes to correct the problems that “Allowed Sites” has caused, and to get AS to function properly.
Collectively, we publishers are loosing millions as long as these problems continue, and so is Google.
My EPC is fine however Friday's CTR, -20% for Sept average, was my lowest for more than 2 months and on that occasion there had been another "maintenance"!
Today it is even worse at -50% of the month's average.
Friday's earnings were less than any Sunday, always my lowest day, since early August.
I wrote to the AdSense team a couple of days ago regarding AdLinks not appearing and they were blissfully "unaware" even though several forum boards had postings of a similar nature.
Tweak, tweak, tweak...then it falls over and this just when I was having a decent month.
My stats were so bad on Friday that I found a phone number for Goofle and talked to a guy named Billy. He wasn't much help, though he did dhare some interesting insights into the company.
Briefly, they think we're all stupid, and to a large degree, they're right. Is this company really worth $144 billion? With all the fits and starts in other areas, and the sporadic functioning of AdSense, click fraud and other issues, I think investors have really lost their minds on this one.
I haven't been able to log in to AS this morning.
Flame out coming.

All over the darned place comes to mind! They've done something and don't know how to repair it.
They remind me off my hosts when I tell them everything's down, including their site, and they say "Well, we can access everything!"
Doh! Of course you can, you're sitting on top of the damned server with direct access!
I sure hope their Friday and Sunday earnings were down proportionately the same as mine then someone may start to kick butts, yeah, dream on.

They actually called me at home once to express pretty much the same opinion. Fortunatley, I'm so stupid that I didn't figure it out until long after the call was over:-)
That said, out CTR, eCPM and earnings have been improving over the weekend, after I made some room in the filter for some new MFAs and took the ads off some low performing pages.
But the login has been painfully slow, can take minutes.

Outages Are Reported Several Times Every Month
Reports of slowdowns have been ongoing daily for the last several years. In most of the threads, including the threads for September cited above, there are some who pop in to post that they're not experiencing a slowdown. What does it mean?
Making Sense of AdSense Outages
What that may mean is that either it's a slowdown confined to one or more datacenters, or in the case of this thread, it's a rolling slowdown affecting some datacenters on then off.
I recall one incident two years ago when many Google services went down but it was localized to the Eastern United States, particularly in New England. In that case, and in any case really, it helps the cause of finding meaning if you also mention your geographic area to see if there is a geographic connection for any outage you may feel you are experiencing. It also makes sense to return to this thread once your outage is over to report that AdSense is back to normal.

OK, it's back to normal here in Upstate New York. It's still one of the slower-loading places I visit, but that can be accounted for by the heavy load it must take day in and day out.
(I promise not to peek at my earnings again for another 3 or 4 hours.)

Now just why do I not believe you? :-)
