I was on a business networking site and it showed me google ads completely unrelated to the info on the page but to what I am interested in and spend a lot of time on the internet reading about.

I found this old thread on this:
[webmasterworld.com...]

but was wondering if this behavioral personalization of ads is standard practice now.

>> standard practice..?

I haven't noticed that happening.

Were you logged into Google by any chance?

I have noticed some behavioral targeting on Adsense. It's not working at all. My argument is to only show contextual argument.

If you wanted pizza yesterday, that does not mean you are interested in Pizza today if you are looking for cars.
