Testing?

I have just seen a Google search appear in a space where I have specified 160x90 links. Text was "search for Google ads", or something similar. Gone now.

Is this something new being tested, or have I missed something?

I'm also seeing this on one of my newer pages. I just assumed google hadn't crawled it yet and this was their thing instead of showing irrelevant ads.

Hmmmm! I haven't seen those on my site but wonder if that's why I see a lot of "search" hits in my Adsense statistics today? I've only placed search boxes on two pages and usually get very few searches showing in my statistics.

I typically see something like that on sites where AdSense hasn't figured out the page/site enough to know what type of ads to show.

I have occasionally seen it appear on pages that are old and have normal ads on the page. It often just goes away later. It is thus not true that one sees it only on new pages.

I think there's a more serious problem, I am seeing this, or no AdLinks whatsoever, across 180+ sites!

All well-established with AdSense and AdLinks since inception.

YMMV!
