Hello,

This topic was sparked in my mind because of the topic about changing your Adsense around here and there to help with ad blindness.

As for me, I see that my site DOES generate more income when I do change things around.

My question is what do some of you do to generate ad blindness? Do you keep one steady theme where adsense is placed on every page, or is adsense on random spots on each page?

How does this work for you?

That sounds like a great idea and it seems logical that there would be an increase in CTR. But it would be kind of tough to move things around if you have a fixed layout. I'm sort of reluctant to give up a clean design in favor of higher CTR.

I am not necessarily talking about ruining your layout just for Adsense (not a good idea), but maybe even just have a rotating Adsense. So each reload of the site would output a different Adsense. Maybe for one refresh it would output ad links, for the next maybe it would output images, and maybe for the next refresh of the page it would output link units. Any thoughts on this method?

I don't change placement (that would be possible, but would require more time and thought than I have at the moment) but I do use PHP to randomly change color schemes for the ad blocks. I assign channels to them, and found out some interesting things - like for example, I always thought my blue links were best, but it turns out this year the red links (and ad boxes) (which stand out more) have REALLY beat out the other choices, and nobody seemed to like green or yellow.

I usually do a complete site overhaul every year or two as far as the look, so I might try something that will place ads in different spots next year.
