Nothing wrong with relying on your AdSense income if it exceeds your previous "job" income.

If not, there may be an issue with your plan.

My "checks" get deposited straight into my checking account and then as soon as I get them I transfer them to savings. So my checks go "whoosh"

Yes, it IS a good feeling to turn a hobbie/past-time into something that actually is starting to support itself. No more hosting fees for me! ; )

Congrats on the first check! I remember a few years ago when mine came in, I was so happy and thought I was "da bomb". Now, I look back, at myself, and guffaw. There IS good money to be made on Adsense, but it is FAR harder than most think. It is certainly not a get-rich-quick scheme by any means. Hard work, just like everything else (unless you buy a lot of domains, park them and slap a list of ads up, hoping for the next "fish", LOL). Well, shouldn't be long you can make $300,000/mth like that one dude from the dating site!

Basically, for the past year I have dedicated a couple hours each day to work on my site, and it has grown and grown. Each month it grows. And then a couple of months ago I put Adsense on, and now I have been rewarded. Each hour I work on it now, the better it will become, and the more I will be rewarded in the future!
