Adsense for Foreign Language

We have a successful English language site that recently had it's traffic increase dramatically. A little research revealed that it was coming almost entirely from Brazil. Our site is graphic oriented, so no great ability to read English is required. I know that many Brazilians speak at least some English but we decided that in the long run having a large amount of Portuguese speaking traffic clicking(or not clicking) on English language Adsense was a bad formula.

So now we are in the process of launching a Portuguese language site which will be similar but offer content more catered to Brazilian visitors. We will then try to channel the Brazilian traffic to the new site.

My questions are:

What do I do with Adsense to get them to load Portuguese language ads?

Can we expect eCPMs even close to our English site with the foreign traffic?

I know these are noob questions, but we've never had a foreign language site before and we'd like to launch the new site asap since we obvously won't be able to direct the traffic to our new site if that traffic finds a better Portuguse alternative before we launch and leaves our site.

Adsense will show ads automatically in the language the page is in. I have a site in spanish and all the ads shown are in spanish, so don't worry about that.

The CPM is good, nothing to complain about, but maybe you will be getting higher numbers in your english site.

When developing your new site, try to get quality translations for your content. You have no idea of how many sites I've seen "translated" into spanish that are just rubbish, even when the original content is fine.

Adsense will also sometimes show ads in local languages if you view them from the relevant country.

For example if you view a site through an internet connection in France, you will occasionally see French adsense adverts even if the site itself is in English.

As far as I know this is automatic, and may be decided by the advertiser themselves.

Thanks for the information guys, it sounds like this site won't be quite as challenging as I expected. If it goes as planned I'm going to look at all my sites and maybe consider other foregn language versions.
