Backlink sales to Adsense ad holders.

How do you know who's who?

With millions of sites, mom and Pops to big business making the advertiser circuit they will sooner or later, either directly or indirectly end up on Google.

it's not as if you are cruising around looking for buyers of your space, they come to you but try to prove it.

I have had 2 emails from a couple of sites that have been showing up in my Google ads for a years. They want to know the price of a back link. I don't bother answering them, I simply delete the emails and go on as always. I do not buy or sell backlinks!

My question is: How are we to know we are conversing about the sale of adspace to one of them? Remember the TOS.

If I remember correctly, the TOS states that publishers aren't allowed to contact advertisers for any reason. I think the same restriction should be placed on advertisers who wish to contact publishers.

Yes, but Avertisers (Adwords) reports show all the referrers URLS (Adsense Users Websites).

I understand the restrictions is a necessity ... but it would be very hard to monitor.

This very confusing to me as I dimly remember reading that there should be NO comuication and inquiries should be directed to Google?

I found this but it just gets more confusing.

[Publishers using online advertising to drive traffic to pages showing Google ads must comply with the spirit of Google's Landing Page Quality Guidelines. For instance, if you advertise for sites participating in the AdSense program, the advertising should not be deceptive to users.]

I don't know who most of my AdSense advertisers are, so if someone e-mails me about purchasing a text link, I don't hesitate to respond with a "Sorry, but I don't sell text links." And if someone wants to buy a legitimate ad, I refer them to the advertising page on the site (which they probably saw in the first place but chose to ignore).
