I have a site which has lots of information about purple widgets, it is pretty much the only site on purple widgets.

Some other sites want to display my information on their website.
I can quite happily put this in a frame and place it on their sites.

I would like to put in the frame an adsense ad.
I am quite sure some of the sites which will have this information have been banned from adsense or have some other problem with google.

I have gone through the terms of service and all seems fine (as long as I stick to the rules etc.). I have a nagging suspicion google might not like me suddenly advertising on other sites which I have no direct control over.

Has anyone else seen an example like this or have any idea of what the response from google might be?

If you have the adsense on your page on your site and another site puts that page in a frame on their site, then you really have no control over it (although technically you could prevent the framing if you wanted to). It's just like you have no control over someone linking to your site.

Of course, for the final answer, you should e-mail Google directly.

I don't think you are allowed to open an AdSense ad in a frame and you are not allowed to open an AdSense ad in a new browser.

It's OK to use frames:
[google.com...]
"If your page uses Frames, make sure that the code is pasted into the frame that contains your page's main content. We use this content to target ads"

You can display the code on another person's website:
[google.com...]
"The ad code and search code generated through the guided steps on the AdSense Setup tab of your account are valid for any page in any site on which you want to display Google ads or an AdSense for search box."

But your account could be disabled as a result of the other publisher's website:
[google.com...]
"...However, if we determine that the other publisher's account may pose a risk to our AdWords advertisers, we may disable it in order to protect our advertisers' interests."
