AdSense on sites with PARTLY "questionable" content

It must be allowed, no?

Let's say I have a site with many different categories. Some of them contain info about drugs, guns, sex and gambling. But the others are "clean" (I don't know why those particular topics are against their ToS).

Can I put ads on the non-ToS-violating pages? I asked Google about this, but they gave me a VERY generic reply that could have meant anything. (I don't think they even read my letter, to be honest.)

Now, personally, while I certainly accept the ToS as a "law", I don't understand it. But I'm pretty certain that this must be allowed, since I'm not making Google/AdSense "look bad" or anything as there are no ads on those pages.

What do you think?

Technically, Google is only concerned about pages with AdSense, rather than the domain. A good example is blogspot. I can have a blog about health and fitness and put adsense on it without any problem but I know blogspot pages with totally unacceptable content (I mean other users have non commercial blogs that do not carry adsense and will never be accepted in the program but they are on on same domain).

if you look here
[google.com...]

Site Content

While Google offers broad access to a variety of content in the search index, publishers in the AdSense program may only place Google ads on sites that adhere to our content guidelines

it says sites, not pages

Why not ask Google for a more specific reply? Be persistent, and don't rely on the guesswork of others.

I've had email exchanges with a couple of people at AdSense.

My site deals with guns. I don't sell guns on my site, or any gun-related accessories. In fact, I don't sell anything on my site except advertising for gun and sporting goods stores. And those stores cannot sell anything from my site. If they want to sell, they have to do it from their own sites.

All I do is show photos of guns, specifications of the guns, and full-page ads for brick-and-mortar stores that sell them.

As far as AdSense was concerned, though, it didn't matter. My whole site was regarded as prohibited content.

It's their business, and their rules. I wish it were otherwise, but I just have to accept it as it is.

What really steams me, though, is when I do a search for "Acme rifles" on Google, I'll see an Ebay or Amazon ad.

In my case, Google did say a particular site was okay as long as I kept ads off of certain pages. But I would definitely show them your specific example rather than relying on second-hand stories.
