1) Placing more than one ad unit on a page often generates more revenue. Many of your sites only contain one ad unit.

2) You may be filtering ads that monetize well on your site.

If I followed the two tips above, I would actually earn less!

I still am showing my April message; haven't gotten one since (nor have they removed the April message)

I've become cynical about those messages and don't even bother checking anymore. I hope they don't put in something useful down the road and I miss it because I didn't check for messages.

I'm still seeing the old messages, but I never pay attention to them anyway.

If they were a bit more customized to what my site is actually experiencing, I guess I would take a moment (or two) to read them.

One of the biggest corporations in the world, and they cannot even copy the useful material/tips from the adsense-web/blogs to the "optimization report" so that those who never bother to read any real articles, may at least accidentally click on "optimization report" and read something useful.

Why publishers need to have "content" on their site if Adsense doesn't need to? ;-D

All the information about earnings and payments are propably randomly generated when you check them -- I mean, it seems unlikely that they could actually get some part of their pages to work if "optimization report" is way too tough for them to get rolling ;-D

As it's the first time I've seen one of these in my account I read it and implemented it for a few hours (basically displaying a get firefox graphic to IE users). With a terrible CTR and with overall eCPM dropping I went back to how I'd had it before.

I'm going to ignore these automated tips in the future as they don't seem to be very useful.

I have 2 accounts. One I don't even use. 0 impressions for months but it still gets the same optimization reports.

Did not get a July report and thus thought it might be over. But today the August Optimization Report showed up, some mumbling about Google Search for Content...

Given that the past few days were the worst days this year, bringing me down to the revenue level when I started with Adsense 2+ years ago, I now followed one of the optimization tips and removed my ban on the 200 crap sites I had been filtering.

To hell with user experience, credibility, and usability!

I just make sure people understand that these ads are advertisements, and I make them stand out, so people understand that they are run by Google, not by me. So if anyone is having a bad user experience, plase don't blame me! If anyone is being ripped off by one of the many shady advertisers, please don't blame me!

It's really sad to see that after two (more or less) promising years, I've now come to a point were I start to see the Adsense program as useless. Where is the point in having more unique quality content and more quality visitors than 12 months ago, when you earn less? Where is the point in having to expose your visitors to these truckloads of crap ads? I predict that Google will have more (self-inflicted) problems with the Adsense program, and that Wall Street will spot the fact that Google will not be able to maintain the required growth and then the analysts/investors will hopefully pull the plug on this company, sending down their stock to the basement (where they belonged since IPO).

Anyway, with a delay of four months, I followed one of the suggestions of the OptiTool... It will be (mildly) interesting how things develop. Will my revenues increase?

Yes - it's disappointing that Google is willing to sell one bad user experience for a fraction of a penny and even encourages us to follow this mentality with those Optimization Reports. Just diappointing.
