How can CTR vary so much day to day? I have say 1000 websites and the day to day ranges across all sites are very significant! Like some days its ZERO!

This wasn't always the case...I remember finding a website that had 1000 unique visitors a day and placing adsense on it would guarantee something...not anymore. A site that gets 1000 unique visitors shows about 200 page impressions in adsense and the CTR is pathetic. These are good sites!

Also, I have a few friends that experience a only minimal shift in CTR.

Are there penalties against adsense accounts. QS?

1) Ads change from day to day.
2) Different visitors from day to day.
3) Smart pricing fluctuates from day to day.
4) Traffic varies from day to day.
