Phantom CPMs

Where do those numbers come from?

I'm fairly new to using Adsense, and wondered if anyone could tell me why CPMs for channels that have no clicks sometimes register a CPM more than zero.

Surely if there's no one clicking and no earnings, the CPM must be 0.00?

Is this some kind of error in the system?

You're being site targeted - i.e. someone on the AdWords side is doing a CPM ad instead of a CPC ad - they're paying a per-thousand-impression rate. If you don't want these ads, you can email support and ask them to opt you out.
