Just curious I have several sites, low paying keywords and until recently did not optimize G Adsense. I get a lot of type in traffic and fear Adsense linking to other sites to steal my hard earned traffic for pennies.
Im up to about 5.00-6.00 but its just traffic I need I know that.
It took me to April to average $1 per day, June was my first $100+ month, currently running around $5 per day average. I hope to reach $10/day average by the end of this year. I think its a reasonable goal for a new site.
Its about bringing in lots of traffic, but I want to have a high quality site to provide the info readers are looking for.
Reno_Chris has it right. Go for the long term approach and keep on building up your site and visitors and your Adsense earnings should keep rising.
Don't be surprised or disheartened if you reach a plateau every now and then, when your earnings just don't seem to go up no matter what you do. One day they will, and you'll be on the way to the next target.
I just wanted to comment that this is the way to go. Your story is VERY similar to mine. I kept adding content to a site that I loved. It wasn't about making a ton of money quickly it was about making a site that would have some legs and become a resource for visitors.
In my mind it's a success. It took awhile to become a source of income. A rough estimate is 3 years...if not a little longer. But, today it's a nice boost to my income. It gives me a little financial freedom I didn't have before, and I still love working on the site.
As a matter of fact next weekend I'm off to buy a car from the income generated by the site. Okay, it's a Yaris, but still, I'm buying the car... no payments...just writing the check and driving it off the lot.
adze...you're on the right path. Keep at it. Slow and steady is the way to win this race.
