Does site layout affect earnings?

I have a template that i made for my sites that use adsense!

I used to use it only on one of my sites, and that was by far my best earning site, so then i decided to change my other 2 sites to that template and my earnings on those sites have shot up as well.

So does the layout of your website affect earnings?

Or is it just a lucky coincidence.

Of course it has an effect.
